Suzie Pont - Principal Consultant

Qualifications
C.H.R.E (Certified Human Resources Executive) from the Educational Institute of America; accredited workplace health and safety officer; Cert IV Training and Assessment.

Experience
During the course of Suzie’s Human Resource and Training career she has occupied several People and Culture positions in Queensland, United States and Egypt requiring knowledge and skills relating to contemporary human resource management including such matters as recruitment and selection, contracts and employment issues, performance appraisal, equal opportunity, anti-discrimination, employee health and safety, disciplinary actions, termination of employment, remuneration, Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, Australian Workplace Agreements, staff leave, rewards and employee benefits, and other related HR issues.

Suzie has been working in the private sector in major organisations for the past ten years. She has an excellent understanding of human behaviour and is currently lecturing at Gold Coast TAFE. She has an excellent communication style and which allows her to connect with clients.

Suzie has been responsible for dealing with major staff interventions such as the counselling of staff due to terrorist attacks on hospitality facilities in the Middle East. This role was carried out for Sonesta Hotels based in Boston USA.

Suzie conducted a consultancy for Qld Population Health (Qld Health) where she was required to review staff of that section to map where the staff were to be located in respect of a collective agreement. This involved dealing with cultural sensitivities.

Following notification of redundancies for staff at Bain Gasteen Lawyers Suzie was required to counsel staff on preparing them for transition to new employment. This involved critiquing resumes, coaching in attending interviews and working with the HR manager.

With the amalgamation of the Service Delivery and Performance Commission and the Office of the Public Service CSG was required to work with staff of those organisations to provide one-on-one instruction in relation to critiquing, assistance with resumes, career guidance and also conducting group sessions regarding employment opportunities in the Qld public sector.

Suzie is a highly skilled mediator having undertaken mediation assignments for a number of local authorities and Qld State Government Agencies.

Suzie conducted an investigation into an allegation about a selection process bias and discrimination. This matter involved addressing cultural sensitivities and the matter was completed to the total satisfaction of our client.
